Since 1978, Mark Hanson, owner and president, has been building custom Ankeny, Ames, Des Moines, and Johnston homes in Iowa. Born in Jewell, he grew up working in his father's lumberyard and framing houses. With his hands on approach he increased his knowledge of homes and the building process. Moving to Ames in the early '80's to start Hanson Homes Inc., he quickly earned a reputation as a high-quality homebuilder. In 2003, Mark was voted the Ames Homebuilder of the Year by his peers. He has served as the Ames Home Builders Association president on 2 different occasions and served on the board for a countless number of years.
